ADP Main Distribution Panel

ADP PANELS

ADP panels, also known as Main Distribution Panels, are the main distribution panels of power facilities. The circuit breakers of the facility’s distribution lines are located within these panels. They are often placed together with compensation panels. Installation is usually done indoors; however, in certain conditions, they can be mounted outside near pumps, depending on the specific requirements. In small facilities, main distribution panels with electricity meters are integrated with compensation panels. In larger facilities, additional components are included, such as:

  • Copper busbars
  • Main switch
  • Current transformers
  • Meter section
  • Compensation units

If large facility distribution panels are to be installed outdoors, they must be external type. For indoor installation, they must feature natural ventilation or fans. If needed, internal lighting can also be included.

Features of ADP Panels

The busbars inside the Main Distribution Panel are insulated up to 630A against accidental contact. Additional features include:

  • Vertical and horizontal busbar systems calculated for easy assembly/disassembly, optimized cooling, and improved energy efficiency.
  • Modular base sheets, cover plates, and mounting rails for simplified installation.
  • Optional plug-in terminals for small amperage busbar outputs.
  • Galvanized mounting bases to ensure continuous grounding and corrosion resistance.
  • Manufactured in compliance with TS 3367 and IEC 439 standards, up to 1600 kVA.
  • Use of international standard mounting plates and cover doors, ready for installation.
  • Bolt-based frame system allowing flexible modifications and extensions.
  • Produced in all IP classes, with modular designs for efficiency and aesthetic appeal.
  • Made from high-quality DKP sheet steel, electrostatic powder coating, stainless steel bolts, ergonomic locks, hinges, and handle systems.

What Does an ADP Panel Contain?

An ADP panel typically includes the following equipment:

  • Reactive energy meter
  • Active energy meter
  • Busbars
  • Power contactors
  • Capacitors
  • Capacitor contactors
  • Measuring instruments
  • REGs
  • Voltmeter
  • Ammeter
  • Power relays
  • Control relays
  • Signal lamps
  • Display units
  • Circuit breakers
  • Fuses

Additionally, compensation systems integrated into the panel correct the phase shift between current and voltage, keeping it close to ideal. Clear labeling and cable color coding make troubleshooting fast and efficient.

Why Are ADP Panels Necessary?

Main Distribution Panels are essential in workshops, factories, and workplaces where electricity is used, as they distribute electrical power throughout the facility. In transformer-based systems, low-voltage output from the transformer is directed into the main distribution panel, and from there, energy is delivered to sub-distribution panels. In facilities without transformers, energy enters from the main feeder cabinet and is then distributed within the building.

Thus, ADP panels allow the entire facility’s electrical power to be controlled from a single panel, making them indispensable in factories, workshops, and industrial facilities. In larger facilities, compensation units are often integrated for better efficiency and stability.

Main Distribution Panel Materials

Various materials are used in ADP panels:

  • Busbars: Typically rectangular copper sections, their dimensions depend on facility power requirements. Busbars are often color-coded (red, blue, yellow, black, green).
  • Switches: Control the opening and closing of the facility’s electrical power. Entry switches are usually load switches or compact breakers. For higher capacities, open-type automatic circuit breakers are used. Outgoing switches may include rotary switches in small panels or compact/open-type breakers for high currents. Fuses may also be integrated with rotary switches.

Since every factory or workplace has different requirements, ADP panels are custom-designed and manufactured to meet the exact needs of the facility. This ensures optimal safety, efficiency, and durability.
